Welcome to Gem City Gathering

Gem City Gathering is a church sent to make disciples, to break bread together, to take Communion, to dwell in God’s Word, to pray, and to be formed together as the family of God.

We exist to equip every believer to live as sent people in order to reach our neighborhoods, cities, and the world with the gospel.

How We Gather

Please consider joining us if you are a disciple of Jesus who desires to become like Him and do the same things He did. Do not come expecting a typical Sunday church experience. Instead, come ready to discover what God desires, reflect on Him, and integrate what you learn into everyday life.

FAQ

Yes! We have child-care for K-3rd grade. The way our gatherings are designed, we want children in the Discovery, Reflection, and Integration time as soon as possible. Our time together is more interactive and engaging than a typical Sunday morning.

We will begin gathering publicly January 2027.

We typically reserve communion for our small gatherings, but on occasion, we will take communion for special days. It is up to the discretion of each family on what age is appropriate for their children.

We meet at Solid Grounds Coffee Shop, 189 S. Main St, Jellico, TN. Parking is available at Veterans' Park across the street.

Small Gatherings 
    • A full expression of the church, closer to its original form (see Acts)
    • Typically meet in homes
    • Organized around a calling to a specific group (missional communities)
    • Or organized as a team of missionaries (distributive communities)
    • Every member is actively involved in the mission

Our Small Gatherings often meet privately in homes and other places all throughout the week. To join a small gathering is to become a member of our community. Think of our community more like a missional community. We would ask anyone interested in joining a small gathering to observe for 3-6 months, join us on mission in our city at some of our other Wells, and get to know the people before deciding.

We want to get to know you and desire to equip you for the work of the ministry. Everyone in our community is active in our city, whether in a more organized fashion (at the Connection Center) or in their everyday lives (where they live, work, and play). We want disciples who make disciples. Mission is our organizing principle. 

The short answer, outside of childcare, Gem City Gathering does not offer any programs. What we do offer is a network of interconnected ministries called Wells. These Wells are Christ-centered environments that facilitate transformation. Our Wells were cultivated by members of our community through Springs of Life Network, which helps support each vision and mission. These Wells existed before Gem City Gathering was founded. Gem City grew out of a need for a deeper community while living on mission for Jesus. A place to be encouraged, equipped, and sent back out into the mission field.
